North Pacific Yearly Meeting convenes ad-hoc committees as needed when additional research, fact-finding, and seasoning is required. Ad-hoc committees are most frequently convened by the Executive Committee at Annual Session.
Current Ad-Hoc Committees
Committee on Representatives and Funding for Affiliated Organizations (Reps to Orgs). This is a one year appointment 7/2011 - 7/2012 to review the history of monetary expectations and outlays to affiliated organizations and recommend the number, equitable compensation, and duties of representatives to those affiliated organizations. Friends General Conference (FGC) Seasoning Committee - to move us forward in a seasoning process regarding affiliation with FGC. This is a one year appointment 7/2011 - 7/2012 with a goal of reaching unity on this question at AS 2012. Tom Head, clerk.
Ad Hoc Committee to Evaluate the Extra Day of NPYM Annual Session. This is a one-year appointment to collect information and reply to AS 2012. John Alcott, clerk.

Youth Safety Implementation Committee - charged with working out the details of how to implement the policy including background checks, storage of background information, cost of implementation of the policy, and procedures for exceptions to the policy. We approved a youth safety policy at AS 2011 and gave ourselves a year to implement it. This is a one year appointment 7/2011 - 7/2012. Chris Cradler, clerk.

Friends for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender and Queer Concerns (FLGBTQC) Affiliation Committee - to bring a recommendation to AS 2012 about what kind if any affiliation NPYM should maintain with FLGBTQC. Appointed by Executive Committee at AS 2011. Following our affiliation policy this committee is working with the funding committee to make sure the recommendations agree with each other.

Ad-Hoc committee to consider NPYM affiliation with Quaker Earthcare Witness (QEW).
